Getting started for organization admins

This guide covers setting up your organization: creating it, choosing a plan, inviting your team, and configuring the settings that affect everyone.

1. Create your organization

  1. Sign up and choose Org Admin at role selection.
  2. Choose Create New Organization (or join an existing one by ID if your company already has an account).
  3. Fill in the organization form: name, website, industry, size, and address.
  4. Pick a subscription plan. You are taken through checkout (Stripe); after payment you land on your organization dashboard.

You must select a plan before the full admin area unlocks. Plans and what they include are covered in Billing and subscriptions.

2. Invite your team

From Org Admin → Users:

  • Invite members by email with a role: Interviewer for hiring team members, Org Admin for other administrators, Candidate for internal assessment users.
  • Invitations expire and can be resent. Seats count against your plan's member limit.

3. Configure organization settings

Org Admin → Settings controls policies that apply to every member:

Setting What it does
Allow AI assistance The organization-wide default for whether candidates may use AI tools during tasks. Individual tasks can also carry their own AI policy. Set this deliberately — it drives integrity flagging on submissions.
Hiring-only mode Hides gamification, learning paths, leaderboards, and behavioral-analysis pages for your members, leaving a focused assessment experience. Members navigating to those URLs are redirected to the dashboard.
Default language UI language applied to members who haven't chosen one themselves.
White-label branding Custom logo, colors, and product name (available on Professional/Enterprise plans).

4. Set up single sign-on (optional)

Enterprise customers can enforce SAML SSO and SCIM provisioning from Org Admin → SSO:

  1. Enter your identity provider's metadata URL and the email domains that should use SSO.
  2. Map IdP groups/attributes to SkillFoundry roles (candidate, interviewer, orgadmin — platform admin cannot be assigned via SSO).
  3. Optionally enable Enforce SSO so members of your domains must sign in through your IdP.
  4. For automatic user provisioning/deprovisioning, generate a SCIM token and configure it in your IdP.

Once configured, users entering a company email at the login screen are routed to your IdP automatically. If they see "SSO is not configured for this email domain", check the domain list in your SSO settings.

5. Connect GitHub (optional)

From Org Admin → GitHub Integration you can connect repositories to:

  • Create tasks from pull requests — the primary way to build realistic assessments on your own codebase. See Creating and managing tasks.
  • Bring your own content repository — host your own task documentation and code samples that appear in candidates' documentation portal.

6. Monitor usage

  • Org Admin → Dashboard — activity overview for your organization.
  • Org Admin → Analytics — usage analytics: skill distribution, improvement trends, code-quality metrics across your candidates.
  • Org Admin → Billing — subscription status, invoices, payment methods, usage against plan limits, and the billing portal for card management.

Plan limits to be aware of

Subscription plans cap seats, active tasks, candidates, API usage, and storage. When a limit is reached, the relevant action fails with a clear "upgrade required" message (HTTP 403 for API users). Check Billing → Limits before large hiring campaigns, and see Billing and subscriptions for how to upgrade, downgrade, pause, or cancel.
